Employee Wellness Program

Health education programs that address the risks of alcohol and other drug abuses are vital in the workplace. They reduce stigma, eliminate barriers to recovery and will help minimize the impact of alcohol and drug problems on your company. These programs will shown  a positive return on investment.

Effective employee education programs provide company-specific information, such as the details of the workplace alcohol and other drug policies, as well as generalized information about the nature of alcohol and other drug addiction; its impact on work performance, health and personal life; and types of help available for individuals with related problems. Oftentimes, substance abuse education may be “nested” in larger disease-prevention wellness programs in the workplace.

All employees should participate.  Messages should be delivered on an ongoing basis through a variety of approaches. Opportunities for employee wellness education may include newsletters, health fairs, workplace displays, brown-bag lunches, guest speakers, seminars and sessions at new employee orientation.
